About the author

Seok Joon-ho was born in Hamheung in 1944 and graduated from Seoul Middle and High School in 1962 to enter Yonsei University's commerce department. He earned a master's degree in political science from the University of Southern Illinois in the United States and a doctorate in public administration from Nova Southeastern University. In 1967, he participated in the Vietnam War as an Army martial arts instructor and was awarded the Inheon Order of Merit, and later became a national merit. Since 1972, he has served as US president of the University Principles Research Association (CARP) and vice president of the New York Unification Theological Seminary (UTS). Since 1990, as the president of the International Education Foundation (IEF), he has carried out educational activities in the former Soviet Union, China, and Mongolia to promote unification martial arts. From the late 2000s to the late 2010s, he served as the Korean chairman of the World Peaceful Unification Family Association and the chairman of the Seonhak Academy (former Seonmun Academy). He established the Unification Martial Arts in 1979 and the Unification Martial Arts in 2016, and served as the president of the World Peace Martial Arts Union and the world president of the World Unification Martial Arts Federation. The books include "Searching for Life's True Purpose" (volume 8), "Cultivating Heart and Character", "Creating A Principled Youth Movement", "Utmost Sinematic Movements Heaven", "Great Steps to World Peace", "Chunghyo Map Manseung Jiwon", and "Danryeon Yongjin".

The educational ideology of Unification martial art is the ideology of Aecheon (愛), Aein (愛), and Patriotism (愛 country). Aecheon loves heaven and knows it right away, and establishes new values centered on God and practices it in life. A lover is to love the whole human race as brothers and sisters as a family, transcending countries, cultures, and religions. Patriotism is an idea that God and humans want to achieve by loving the country they 想. Based on these ideas of love, love, and patriotism, we can transform a society that is increasingly devastated by golden universalism and realize God's true love ideal. (Page 21)

The governor gave the slogan and code of conduct of the Unification Martial Arts, '鍛鍊勇進 Yongjin (孝)' and 'Chunghyo Ji Manseung Jiwon (萬勝 源) ' as the motto and code of conduct of the Unification Martial Arts. It means to use the spirit of "We must constantly train our bodies and minds to move forward without losing courage in any difficult situation" and the truth that "If you do everything with the heart of 孝 Chung-hyo, you can always win" as a guideline for action. (Page 25)

In terms of technology, unified martial art is a holistic and unified martial art that can harmonize and unify all martial arts by scientifically analyzing and improving existing martial arts and creating new original techniques. This unified martial art is an unprecedented new martial art that sublimated martial art into perfect martial art by theoretically organizing it around the idea of unification (principle). Trainees of Unification Martial Arts aim to cultivate their personalities and grow their spirituality by practicing unification ideas (principles) along with practicing martial arts (p. 41).

Ilwon-do has a vision to create a heart-culture world by serving and contributing to humanity and the world by all of us becoming personalities and forming true families to achieve the world of a human family under God. As my parents said, I want to be the main player in making the emotional and cultural world revolutionary by "unifying dance, singing, and movement." (Page 59)
