About the author

Yang Yun-young was born in Seoncheon-eup, North Pyongan Province in 1910, and graduated from Sungui Girls' Middle School in Pyongyang, Maekwang Girls' High School in Japan, and the Department of Vocal Music at Ewha Girls' Jeon. In 1937, she worked as a teacher at Jeongui Girls' High School in Pyongyang, Boseong Girls' High School in Seoncheon, and Gyeonggi Girls' Middle School. In 1952, she became a professor at Ewha Womans University. Since 1956, he has written and composed the Family Union hymn, and the hymnbook contains 7 songs including Oath, Glory Day, Jesus of Suffering, and Spring Garden of Love. During the 1st 7-year course (1960~1967), I was involved in evangelism and itinerant revival activities, and in recognition of this contribution, I received the 1st 7-year Course Achievement Award from True Parents. In 1965, True Father gave the title 'Heungji Nakcheon (音樂成道興地樂天)'. From 1959 to 1966, he coached the Youngsung Choir and Sunhwa Children's Dance Company, and from 1976 to 1981 he ran the Hanseon Music Academy. In 1998, at the age of 89, he became a saint and received the title of 'Seongaesa (誠愛士)' from True Parents.
